Joaquín Sorolla (1863 1923) is one of the great masters of painting, renowned for his mastery of light and color. His output totals 4,200 works in oil, watercolor, and gouache. For more than three decades, Blanca Pons-Sorolla, the artist’s great-granddaughter and the foremost authority on his legacy, has systematically recorded and studied this collection in order to organize it into a chronological catalog raisonné. This first installment is the first volume of this project and is dedicated to the early years of Sorolla’s career, represented by the more than 1,050 works collected here, many of which have been studied and reproduced for the first time.
